Yoshimasa Ogino is the chairman, president and CEO of Akebono Brake Corporation, the North American business unit of Akebono Brake Industry Co., Ltd, located in Farmington Hills, Mich. Ogino is executive vice president, representative director, officer in charge of planning and administration and assistant to the president and CEO of Akebono. He is also the chairman of Akebono Europe S.A.S.

Prior to joining Akebono in 2004, Ogino held a variety of positions at ITOCHU Corporation in Tokyo. His career began in 1975, managing the power plant department across several geographical areas. He was later named senior officer in charge of management activities in 1997, and served as senior vice president and chief administrative officer of ITOCHU International, Inc. in New York in 1999. In 2003, Ogino was named executive vice president of ITOCHU International. He holds master’s degrees in business administration and electrical engineering.
