Membership Benefits
In order to achieve its mission of advancing Kentucky’s automotive industry, the KAIA has several strategic objectives within its broader goals of branding, advocacy, leadership and workforce development. These objectives are designed to bolster the industry and bring value to KAIA’s members. They include:
Branding
- Promoting Kentucky as a preferred place for automotive investment and educating the general public on the importance of the automotive industry to the overall economy of the Commonwealth.
- Marketing Kentucky’s automotive assets to business attraction targets across the country and abroad.
Advocacy
- Initiating roundtable discussions between Kentucky’s automotive stakeholders and the Kentucky Cabinet for Economic Development to assist in the creation of an automotive economic development strategy for the state of Kentucky.
- Supporting automotive trade delegations visiting our state by connecting them to our key stakeholders. Further, supporting Kentucky-led delegations abroad by providing introductions to foreign automotive companies who currently do business with, or in, the Commonwealth.
- Educating Kentucky’s automotive stakeholders on legislative activity that could potentially impact our industry.
- Initiating roundtable discussions between Kentucky’s automotive stakeholders and the Kentucky General Assembly to increase familiarity on both sides and to provide a platform for constructive dialogue between the parties.
Leadership
- Provide leadership that will advance the industry and create an environment for growth.
- Anticipate, identify, and address industry challenges.
- Leverage existing partnerships and create new ones to achieve shared goals.
- Establish an annual Kentucky Automotive event that attracts state, national and international attendance and recognition.
Workforce Development
- Partnering with key businesses, universities, technical colleges and related associations to ensure a robust pipeline of talent into Kentucky’s automotive industry.
- Engaging Kentucky’s high school and university students to promote their awareness of automotive career opportunities.
- Leading the development of in-state training resources to address the needs of the industry.
